Community Garden

Community Garden

The Garden is our church’s flourishing ministry that invites families to connect with creation and community through hands-on stewardship of fruit trees, raised garden beds, herbs, and berry patches. This vibrant outdoor space provides an opportunity for families to care for and cultivate the land, growing fresh, wholesome produce while learning about sustainability and God’s provision.

Garden History! In 2014, the Pastor’s Wife wanted a small vegetable garden for her family. But when a local farmer who belonged to the church heard of it, he plowed her a full 3,500 sq. ft. garden. He also installed irrigation and helped plant the 35 rows of corn, okra, squash, tomatoes, and chiles.

Connecting to the Community: Years later,  the Pastor adapted the garden to raised beds to allow church families to better participate.  Members donated fruit trees, the Pastor’s Wife planted raspberries, blackberries, goji berries, and herbs. Soon after, families in the community asked if they could “adopt a bed” as well, and the Community Garden was born.

Over time, the garden has added a chicken coop, a hoop house with hydroponics, and medicinal herbs used to help the community learn about natural healing and so much more.

Real Nourishment: From planting seeds to harvesting bountiful crops, participants of all ages build meaningful relationships, share in the joy of gardening, and enjoy the fruits of their labor. The Garden not only nourishes bodies with homegrown food but also fosters spiritual growth, gratitude, and a deeper appreciation for God’s creation.
