This journey as a Youth Pastor has been deeply personal and profoundly rewarding.
I have been greatly blessed in my life. I was born into a wonderful family with great love for God. This love was displayed in their selflessness, caring, service to Him, and understanding that we are to help those around us. I remember my parents taking in many different kids when I was growing up. It didn’t matter if we could afford it or if we had room; when there was someone in need, they were there to help.
From my great-grandparents down to my parents, I was shown examples of Christ’s love and selflessness. No matter what road I was on, my family never wavered in their love for me and constantly reminded me of God’s love and the need to put Him first in all things. Their influence ignited a passion in me to do the same for others.
I believe in the transformative power of Christ. I have experienced firsthand how a strong foundation in faith can guide, inspire, and uplift, and how God’s grace can redeem the lost. During my formative years, I was fortunate to have mentors who invested their time, love, and wisdom into my spiritual growth. These mentors, much like my family, helped me navigate the challenges of adolescence with grace and resilience.
Even when I became the prodigal son, going my own way and seeking the world, God was with me, always reminding me of who I am and calling me back to Himself.
I am a Youth Pastor because I am committed to fostering a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where young people can explore their faith, ask tough questions, and grow into the people God created them to be. Today’s youth face intense pressures and challenges that can be overwhelming. By providing a place where they can connect with God and each other, I hope to help them reach a place where they will choose Christ as Lord and Savior and disciple them in their walk with Christ.
I believe in the potential and promise of every young person. They are not just the church’s future—they are its’ present. Their energy, creativity, and passion bring life and vitality to our community. As a Youth Pastor, I have the privilege of witnessing these journeys of faith and personal growth. I get to cheer them on as they discover their gifts, step into their calling, and positively impact the world. There is nothing more rewarding than to see them grow into the people God designed them to be.
Lastly, my role as a Youth Pastor is driven by love. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” (Matthew 19:14). This powerful message underscores the importance of nurturing young hearts and minds. I am dedicated to following this example by leading with compassion, empathy, and an open heart. I know it is only by the grace of God that I am here today, able to share His love and guidance with the next generation.
Being a Youth Pastor is more than a job—it is my calling. It is a privilege to walk alongside these youth as they grow in their faith and navigate life’s challenges. It is a joy to witness their transformation and to know that, in some small way, I am helping to shape the future of our faith community.
